Choir Director Rodney Baker

Rodney Baker has been serving St. John's since 2001.

 

Mr. Baker was born in Newton, NC in October, 1963. He was baptized and raised at St Johns where he is a lifelong member.

He currently resides in Conover, NC with his wife, Lisa, and step-daughter, Carmen. He has been in the furniture business since 1983 and is presently employed at Dimension Wood Products of Claremont, NC, where he has been since 1995. His favorite hobby is riding his Harley with his wife.

Rodney played trombone in the Newton-Conover High School band til graduation in 1981. He also sang in the Junior and Senior choirs at St John's while growing up. He played bass guitar for a number of local rock bands between 1983-1993. Afterwards, he returned to sing in Senior choir.
When the Choir Director position opened in 2001, Mr. Baker volunteered to lead the group until a replacement could be found. He was hired to the position in November, 2003.
