Boy Scouts

The purpose of the Boy Scouts is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. Boy Scout Troop 312 was formed at St. John's in 1989 under the sponsorship of the Lutheran Laymen's League of our church. Since its inception, the troop has been recognized for its award winning tradition at summer camp competitions, trained leadership, and quality programs.

  • This group started in March of 1989. The people who started it were: Doug Yoder, Robby Drum, Ken Hildebran, Douglas Travis Sr. and Douglas Travis Sr.
  • The group is open to the kids between the ages of ten and a half and 17 years old.
  • The purpose of this group is to have fun and develop Character, Citizenship, Mental and Physical Fitness.
  • This group meets every Monday night all year round from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
  • The Troop tries to go camping once a month and they go to summer camp for a week in July.
  • To join this group, please come on to their meeting to talk to one of the leaders, or contact them at any other time convenient to you.
